Description
Here's my most recent photo of the Greenleaf Beacon Hill Dollhouse that I am building as a commissioned piece for a client friend of mine. This model is a very extensive build that would be much more so if my client wanted it painted and finished. At this stage I still have siding and roofing shingles to put on and door hinges and knobs as well. The house is scaled to 1" = 1' scale. The house is about 3ft or so tall when complete.
This photo is of the backside of the house and shows to pretty good effect some of the detail that is provided in the kit for the interior of this model.
As model kits go, even just an assembly model as this one is...it's a marathon to complete, not a quick sprint.
There's a LOT of parts to this kit, and a lot of care and very careful attention to the plans and instructions to successfully build this. But, when done so, it is a fun and rewarding building experience.
I must confess though, that my 2 young daughters really love it, as well as watching me build it, and they are quite bummed that I will have to give it to the customer when it's finished.
I may have to get and build one of these for them myself in the near future.
